Terms of Service
Last updated: 6 July 2026
These terms are a plain-language agreement between you and the developer of Cobalt ("we", "us", "the developer") covering your use of the Cobalt app ("the app"). By installing or using Cobalt, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. What Cobalt is
Cobalt is a media player. It lets you play IPTV playlists and Xtream Codes accounts that you provide. Cobalt does not include, host, provide, sell, or resell any TV channels, movies, series, or other media. It is a tool for playing content you already have the right to access.
2. You bring your own content
- To use Cobalt you must supply your own IPTV playlist (M3U URL) or provider login (Xtream Codes). We do not supply these and cannot help you obtain them.
- You are solely responsible for the playlists, streams, and accounts you load into the app, and for ensuring you have the right to access them.
- You are responsible for complying with the terms of your IPTV provider and with all applicable laws in your country. You agree not to use Cobalt for any unlawful purpose or to access content you are not authorized to access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to defeat any license or subscription check in the app, except where such a restriction is prohibited by law.
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the app itself as if it were your own.
- Use the app to infringe anyone's intellectual property or to violate any law.
4. Subscriptions, purchases & refunds
- Cobalt may be offered with a free trial and paid subscriptions.
- For purchases made through Google Play, billing, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by Google under the Google Play Terms of Service and Google's refund policy. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Google Play account; a subscription renews until cancelled.
- Free trials convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends, as described at purchase.
5. License keys (direct installs)
- On platforms without Google Play (for example, Windows) or for direct/sideloaded installs, access may be unlocked with a license key that we issue to you.
- A license key is granted to you for your personal use. Do not share, publish, or resell it. We may revoke keys that are shared publicly or obtained fraudulently.
- License keys are validated on your device; the app may check a public list of revoked key identifiers, which contains no personal data.
6. Updates
We may release updates that add, change, or remove features. Direct installs may check a public releases page for a newer version. We are not obligated to maintain any particular feature indefinitely.
7. No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. Playback quality depends on your device, your network, and your provider — things outside our control. We do not warrant that any given playlist, stream, or provider will work.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of your use of (or inability to use) the app. Because the content you play is supplied by you and your provider, we are not responsible for that content or for any consequences of accessing it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
9. Termination
You may stop using Cobalt at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms (for example, by circumventing licensing or using the app unlawfully).
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this URL. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
